Oopa Waldorf Style xoxo

Home from California.
I really like it there.
It's beautiful.
San Francisco is a cool city too, it's very different. It feels like a village because it's so big and light and even they skyscrapers are smaller than the ones in London, although, I supposed that has more to do with the earthquake threats than anything else.

Of course, jollying off to the other side of the world for a week has left me cripplingly behind with uni work. I have 2 plays to a watch, a book to read AND 2 scripts to write within the next 6 days. Fun.

The wedding was the main event whilst out there though, of course. For the past five years my older cousin (who may as well be my older brother with the closeness of my family) has been in a relationship with the most lovely girl wh comes from Modesto, CA. After years of doing the painful long distance thing, he proposed and due to visa's being a nightmare, they gave up their European dream and decided they'd start married life together over in California... It's a hard knock life, I know.
Seeing the way he looked at her as she walked down the aisle, said their vows and danced the night away made me see that yeah, maybe love is completely blind, and reckless and scary... But it is also overwhelmingly beautiful and when you have something that beautiful, you don't let it go, no matter how many miles are put between you.
Needless to say, I cried. A lot.
What?! It was an emotional day and besides, my big cousin has just moved half way around the world and I won't see until next September at the earliest. That's long!

But now I am home, with a mountain of work and at least, I'm gonna guess 5lbs, worth of holiday weight that MUST be shed. It all starts here. Uni gets serious, I'm starting to work more hours which means I have more  money coming in and I single-handedly refuse to turn 20 still wanting to cry every time I look in the mirror.

I will get the grades. I will save the money for summer and I WILL have the body. So help me God if I have to leave work and hit library for 6am, go to classes, DIE at Abs, Bums and Tums and eat avocado like it's going out of fashion, I will.

What can I say, Gossip Girl is back on the air and I only have 8 more episodes of Blair to push me forward. She always makes me wanna take over the world.

Much love. x

Stateside Thinking

Feel like I've run out of words to say...
Unless they're about boobs.
In which case, I can't seem to shut up.
But I don't want to keep chatting about boobs.

So, I'm going to San Francisco to do some sight seeing, shop until my arms fall off and witness the wedding of one of my very closest family members and will hopefully return without the writers block.

Much love,

- Hayley x x
